Meet Dr. Dugald McMillan, a second-generation dentist from the small town of Woodland, Alabama. He graduated from the University of Montevallo with a Bachelor of Science in 2005, and a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the prestigious University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Dentistry in 2009.
Initially establishing his practice in the underserved community of New Hope, Alabama, Dr. McMillan dedicated himself to all facets of general dentistry. However, it was the intricacies of endodontics that truly captured his attention over the years. Fueled by a relentless pursuit of perfection and an unwavering commitment to his patients’ well-being, Dr. McMillan resolved to deepen his expertise in this specialized field. This led him back to UAB, where he pursued advanced training in endodontics, ultimately earning his Certificate in Endodontics in 2021. Notably, he served as Chief Resident during his second year of residency, a testament to his leadership and dedication.
Dr. McMillan is renowned among patients and peers alike for his warm, personable demeanor and his attentive approach to patient care. With a practice philosophy rooted in conservatism, he meticulously evaluates non-invasive treatments before proposing interventions, ensuring that each patient receives the most appropriate and effective care tailored to their individual needs. His commitment to transparency extends to his thorough discussions of treatment options, ensuring that patients are fully informed and empowered throughout their dental journey.
Dedicated to providing unparalleled care, Dr. McMillan has equipped his practice, Chattanooga Endodontics, with state-of-the-art technology and amenities designed to enhance patient comfort and satisfaction. From cutting-edge Zeiss microscopes for precision optics to soothing massaging dental chairs, every aspect of the patient experience is meticulously curated to foster a sense of ease and well-being.
Dr. McMillan is an active member of the American Association of Endodontists, the American Dental Association, and the Tennessee Dental Association, the Chattanooga Area Dental Society, and the Chattanooga Dental Study Group. This commitment to ongoing education and collaboration underscores his dedication to excellence in the field of dentistry.
Outside of his professional pursuits, Dr. McMillan finds joy in spending quality time with his cherished family—his wife, Natalie, and their two daughters, Kate and Julia. An avid enthusiast of mountain biking and water activities, he embraces the outdoors as a means of rejuvenation and relaxation.
